Who am I?

I'm Ali, the lady behind the blog. I am a former high school English teacher, mother of two young kids, and a desert rat.

A native Tucsonan, I've called Arizona home my entire life. After studying creative writing at the University of Arizona, I went on to teach high school English from 2012-2017. I had a couple of babies, transitioned out of the classroom and here I am.

Delightful Disasters has existed in my head for some time now. It took a few attempts before coming to life, and we are still working on smoothing out the edges... just like parenting, this blog is a work in progress.

This blog is truly a space for me to share my experiences. More than that, it is a place for me to make sense of convergence of motherhood and all the other things happenings in life. I hope it offers you some laughs, perhaps give you pause here and there, and maybe even leaves you with something helpful.

We live in a world where we are more connected than ever, but we can be so distant from others. Delight Disasters is a way to connect with the world around me, and while the focus is on parenting, I hope for this space to be more than a mommy blog.

Welcome to Delightful Disasters! I hope you'll come along for the ride.
